FORESTERRA’s final Conference has as main objectives to disseminate FORESTERRA’s results and achievements. A more general objective of the Conference is to become a forum on perspectives and challenges for the Mediterranean Forest Industry and Research. The Conference is organised by the FORESTERRA Consortium, with the collaboration of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), Portugal.

The Conference is open to free contributions in poster format, from stakeholders and researchers, dealing with the following topics: 1) Water and forests; 2) Climate change: impact on forest ecosystems. Adaptation; 3) Forest carbon storage; 4) Valuing and preserving the knowledge to prepare the future: Biodiversity and its uses; 5) Non-timber forest products, including biomass for energy, as a market force in the Mediterranean Basin; and 6) Business model for forestry funds and environmental accountability of private businesses.
No registration fees will be charged although you will need to receive the acceptance to participate from the organisers.
Preliminary registration and the submission Free contributions proposals are already possible at the website. For submitting a contribution proposal, please Register ("Registration" section) and add an abstract in the "My abstracts" section. Deadline is 30 June 2015.
The Conference Proceedings, including the text of keynote lectures, theatre presentations and posters accepted by the scientific committee will be published in the Forest Systems journal. Texts are to be written in English.
The organisers will award a limited number of scholarships that may cover accommodation and travel. Preference will be given to participants from less developed countries whose contribution has been accepted by the Scientific Committee. Applications, together with the corresponding CV, should be submitted through the online submission form available at the Registration section.
